I lead themed walks and previously led the Royal Amateur Expedition Society at the Royal College of Art with Grace Pappas. The society was founded in 2012 by Tom Gottelier and then was led successfully for two years by Anna Dakin who now runs sister society, The Artist Expedition Society. The trips have been to places such as the Lake District and the Isle of Mull to explore remote and wild landscapes, there's often mountains or sea or both! Walking helps creativity and is essential to our wellbeing. Through going on walks, I gain inspiration for my own work and create work in the field. I enjoy sharing this method of working and believe in the importance of field work for creative practice. During expeditions we often run creative workshops and use these as a catalyst for creating work, to frame the environment in a new way and investigate our surroundings. Following the trips, we have had some exhibitions of work made during and inspired by the trips.
