The World Inside a Rock
The rock is an object of mystery. My work grapples to comprehend its permanence as opposed to our transient state. My fascination started when I found a rock that contained many holes lying on the beach. The mysterious holes were once made by sea creatures - molluscs, worms and sponges. They create pathways inside the rock and transform it into their home. These creatures can be seen as a metaphor for how we carve our place in the world. Explore and travel through the world inside a rock to see the hidden microcosmic world from the perspective of a tiny sea creature. Delve into and around the caverns underground, though darkness and light, pattern and colour. Travel back in time to the dawn of human existence and further to the beginnings of the universe...
